Package thief arrested

January 14, 2023: A package thief was apprehended on Motzei Shabbos after he returned to the same building on Eastern Parkway in attempt to steal more packages.

When residents of the building spotted the perpetrator, they immediately contacted Shmira and the police who were able to arrest him nearby.

However, a few hours later, the perpetrator was released without being charged.

It is crucial to understand the importance of making a police report when you’re a victim of a theft or crime. As far as the police are concerned, if there is no police report, the incident never happened. If you are the victim of a crime, please promptly report the incident to the police.
