ROCKS THROWN AT BOYS PLAYING IN PARK
June 18, 2008 Filed under Shmira News
Wednesday, June 18, 2008 approximately 9:45am a group of young boys were playing baseball in Lefferts Park, located on Lefferts Avenue between Kingston and Albany Avenue, when suddenly a variety of objects came soaring down upon them from the roof of an adjacent building, 570 Lefferts Avenue. Upon glancing toward the roof one of the boys noticed an African American male standing there and throwing rocks and other objects over the edge. Crown Heights Shmira was called and responded. When the first member arrived he spotted the perpetrator standing on the roof peering over the edge. The Shmira member transmitted the situation over his radio and 911 was dispatched. After approximately ten minutes Police arrived and were directed by the Shmira member in the right direction. The Officers went up to the roof and a few minutes later an unmarked car arrived and two plainclothes officers went up and came down with a handcuffed perpetrator. The unmarked car transported the perpetrator to the local station house.
