SHMIRA HELPS TREAT FATALLY WOUNDED AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN

Friday, June, 06, 2008 at approximately 2:15am a Shmira member, who is an Emergency Medical Technician was patrolling on Lincoln Place between Albany and Troy Avenue when he came upon the scene of a black woman laying face down on the sidewalk in a large pool of her own blood streaming down to the Street. The woman was in critical condition due an eventually fatal stab wound. The FDNY Paramedic ambulance had just arrived and was awaiting another ambulance for additional assistance. The Shmira member identified himself as an EMT and offered his help, which was welcomed eagerly by the FDNY Paramedics whose backup had yet to arrive. The EMT was trained well and was able to assist in speedily preparing the patient for transport. After the second Ambulance arrived the Shmira member resumed his patrol. The patient was transported to Kings County Hospital were she was unfortunately pronounced dead approximately one hour later.The Crown Heights Community commiserates with the family of the victim. May there be a stop to all crime in our neighborhood and beyond.

It’s amazing to see the low regard for human life which some people posses, That very same night a similar incident transpired on president st , at the east end of Crown Heights. It’s people like this who one day murder their loved ones, which will proceed to G-d forbid injure or mortaly wound innocent residents walking down the streets. We must always be wary of our surroundings, and pray that the individual,s who commited these unspeakable acts of injustice be borught to their rightful punishment.
We must also thank the NYPD for their swift response in both case, and thorough investigations which led to the arrest of these criminals.
