SHMIRA ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT

Monday june 2nd, at approximately 8:30pm a Woman looking out of her window, noticed a suspicious man climbing up the scaffold towards the apartment above the cleaners located on Empire Boulevard and Albany Avenue. The Woman immediately called her husband, who is a Shmira member. The Shmira member called for backup as he watched the man climb up to the second floor. Backup arrived, however the man was quick, and he had already gained access to the apartment on the second floor through an unlocked window. One of the Shmira members flagged down a Police car, informed Officers of the situation, they in turn radioed in for backup.

Police backup arrived and they gained access to the apartment. The man inside claimed that he lived there and had just lost his keys. One of the Shmira members called the landlord who came down and identified the man as his tenant. Thank G-D this time it was a false alarm.

Shmira would like to remind the residents of Crown Heights to lock your windows at night or when you are away. First floor windows as well as windows with access to a fire escape should have bars on them.
